Position: Chamber Director
Location: Lakeview OR
FLSA Status: Salary, Exempt
Compensation: $40,000 - $60,000, DOE. In addition, a monthly stipend will be provided to assist with healthcare expenses. The OregonSaves program will be used to facilitate employee retirement savings.
Mission: The Lake County Chamber of Commerce has a threefold mission. First it is committed to collectively coordinating the promotion of economic stability by supporting the interest of local business, enhancing growth and maintaining the quality of life in Lake County, Oregon. Second, as Lake County’s designated Destination Management Organization (DMO), the Chamber is responsible for helping Lake County to be a highly desired destination to visit. Third, as a 501c(6), advocate for legislation that enhances economic viability in Lake County.

Position Summary: The Chamber Director will support Lake County Chamber of Commerce by representing the interests of local businesses and incorporated townships while working closely with the Board of Directors (board) to achieve goals and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Vision- be an ambassador for the execution and development of the Lake County Chambers mission and priorities.
- Membership Management- Retain and recruit members while promoting strong relationships maximizing members participation and collaboration.
- Event Planning and Execution- lead and execute Chamber sponsored events and assist with the promotion of other community events.
- Marketing and Communications- promote activities, recruitment and retention of membership, interest of members, and other fundraising endeavors.
- Financial Oversite- Provide the board financial oversight on annual budget, monthly expenditures and available funding opportunities. Ensure that necessary annual financial reporting is submitted timely.
- Community Relations- cultivate strong relationships with membership, local organizations, and townships to ensure collaborative efforts while supporting local development.
- Boards Oversite- Provide monthly updates while serving as a function expert.
- Local Tourism- Promote local tourism in the county as approved by the board (travel is required).
- Perform additional duties as required by the board.
- On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the duties and responsibilities of this role.
- Recruit, hire, and manage Administrative Assistant.
- The Administrative Assistant assists with the daily operations of the Chamber including but not limited to public assistance and direction, answering of phones, basic computer skills, and light janitorial duties.
- In-depth knowledge of local business, membership and townships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills and high proficiency in website design and advertisement.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.
- Excellent analytic, reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems.
- High level of personal integrity and ethical and professional standards.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience in directing a non profit organization.
- Two (2) years of relevant prior work experience in a leadership/supervisory role preferred.
- Grant writing experience preferred, but not required.
